I'm a student studying Ecology at Susquehanna University with minors in Environmental Education and Photography. I'm a professional photographer with 5 years of experience photographing everything from landscapes and nature to weddings, senior portraits, and sports.
My photography journey started in February of 2020 when I first created my current Instagram account, however, I've been holding a camera and capturing images for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was gifted a small point-and-shoot camera for my 5th birthday. As I got older, I picked up stop motion as a hobby and created LEGO motion pictures for years. I remember taking my Kindle Fire to my sister's hockey practices to capture photographs as I trekked through the neighboring woods. In 2017, I was, once again, gifted a camera, only this time, much more fancy: the Kodak Pixpro AZ252. At the time, juvenile me was more concerned with popularity on YouTube rather than making images. However, this all changed in 2020, when, out of nowhere, I decided to take photos in my front yard. Of the photos of my neighbors' cars, creeping ivy, or a Penguins-branded puck in the snow, my favorite photo and one of the first posts on my Instagram was of a rhododendron bud in my front yard. Whether it was the depth-of-field or the golden hour lighting, something told me to keep shooting. And so that's what I did. In the following months, COVID shut the world down. With minimal school and my previous hobbies becoming boring, I kept taking photos. A few months turned into a few years, and now, 5 years later, I have 750 posts, numerous paid gigs, awards, honors, gallery features, and a tally of over 300,000 shutter clicks taken between my two cameras.
Now, as a full time student, I will not only study photography under my minor, but work for my school to capture events, the student body, and our beautiful campus and Selinsgrove, PA location. As of now, I work for Susquehanna University's Marketing and Communications as a student photographer and occasionally with our Athletics Communications department to operate as a sideline cam for football games or shooting photo & video at sporting events. I've had the opportunity to work alongside other students and professionals in the field to capture meaningful moments in real world scenarios. I've photographed:
the Dion Parson & 21st Century Band jazz performance
a Venezuelan mayoral candidate and activist's lecture
nationally acclaimed authors & professors
and much more.
My work is frequently featured on any of the major Susquehanna University social media platforms, the official Flickr galleries, SU's website, mailing items, official reports, news features, and the list goes on. My work at SU is ever-evolving and the opportunities are only getting better.
I photograph everything. I specialize in documentary/photojournalism work but love to capture sports and landscapes. I have experience capturing everything from weddings to cityscapes professionally and have a portfolio to back it. My favorite genres are photojournalism, sports, and landscapes.
I'm born and raised in the most beautiful city on earth: Pittsburgh, PA. I spent 18 years in the city, capturing every angle of it while I was there. Now, I work and go to school in Selinsgrove, PA, nearer to central PA and Harrisburg.
I shoot on Nikon gear. My main body is the Nikon D7500 with my older D3500 hanging off my shoulder as either backup or with a second lens. My main lens selection for shooting events depends on lighting and what I'm capturing, but I'll always have my Tamron 70-200 2.8 on one of the bodies, and a Nikon 10-20 or 35 1.8 on the other.
Yes! I've completed numerous for-hire gigs in the past, from thrift events, a wedding, senior portraits, sporting events, and everything in between. Shoot me an email if you're in the need of a photographer to capture your event! I offer professional service and deliver an extensive, high quality gallery for an incredibly competitive price!
Currently, I work for Susquehanna University's Marketing and Communications department as a student photographer, which is where most of my Recent Work comes from.
l love the documentary/photojournalism style. I'm interested in capturing a moment or event the way its held. I find myself often applying creative or unique styles and techniques to spice up the variety of a gallery as a way to stand out and offer something new.
